Faculty Fellowships
IACAT's fellowship program provides seed funding to develop long-term research collaborations between University of Illinois faculty and staff at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA). Since 1999, these fellowships have allowed dozens of researchers to access and benefit from NCSA's high-performance computing and data environment, cutting-edge visualization technologies, data mining capabilities, and opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration.
The fellowship process begins when Illinois researchers submit a proposal that is jointly written with a potential NCSA collaborator. Proposals are reviewed by a panel of experts, based on review criteria similar to those used at the National Science Foundation. Awards are made, as funding allows, based on the panel's recommendations.
